Back In The Saddle, or BITS, is a program for adults with riding experience who are trying to get back into riding after some time off.
Riders in our BITS program take two lessons per week, both half-hour in length. This program runs year round, and is scheduled as a package each month.
Our BITS program helps riders:
Our adult riders getting back into the saddle have a variety of different goals: destination trail ride experiences, getting their own horse, just for fun, trying a new discipline, and wanting to be around horses again in a lesson setting.
For children ages 5-9. In this program, your child will begin building a strong foundation of proper riding skills and horse knowledge in a safe and fun learning environment.
The Littles Program consists of two lessons per week, both half-hour in length. This program runs in sessions, each session is 6-10 weeks. Half-hour lessons seem to suit this age group best, allowing them to be fully immersed and focused for a shorter period of time. The twice weekly format helps our students retain information, create muscle memory through repetition, and expand on their previous lesson.
Our mission is to bring along young riders who have:
This program focuses on helping our young equestrians become well acquainted with horses, develop a good riding position, understand safety around horses, and learn basic ground work. Students will learn to assist with some grooming and tacking in small segments; this means that the horse will be partially or fully ready at the start of each lesson. This is done for a few reasons - to ensure that our horses receive quality care during grooming and tacking (this takes about a half-hour itself), and to keep our young students engaged in their learning. Once students in this program are a little older, bigger, and ready for more, they may move on to our Horsemanship Program where learning to groom and tack up becomes a part of each lesson in addition to their ground work and riding.
Jaedon takes great pride and care in teaching young riders, many of whom will be the next generation of professionals in the horse industry. Littles lessons often include games, age appropriate strength and balance exercises, vocabulary lessons, and more. Lessons are tailored to each child’s unique learning style. Jaedon loves sharing the magic of horses with kids, who seem to match her own curiosity and admiration of the animal and the sport.
This program runs from September to May. Please contact us for session dates.
We take great care in building a barn family of kind and supportive horse people who share our values and love for the horse.
If we sound like a good fit, but these programs aren't quite right for you, we can create a lesson plan that better suits you. We offer all the same quality instruction described in these programs from the ground to the saddle for all students.
An evaluation lesson is the first step for new students and gives us an opportunity to make sure we're a good fit for one another before commiting to lessons. These lessons are approximately 1 to 1.5 hours and begin with a brief tour of our barn. The lesson includes basic horse handling and safety, grooming and tacking, followed by a riding lesson, groundwork, or liberty lesson depending on your main interest and goals. This gives us a chance to get to know you, assess any experience you already have, and understand your goals. You will get a feel for Jaedon's philosphy, teaching style and the elements she prioritizes in her training.
Please contact us to set up your evaluation lesson!
We teach students ages 5 and up at any skill level. Whether you are just starting your horse journey, getting back in the saddle, or want to advance your skills and horse knowledge, we are here to help. Not interested in riding, but want to get involved with horses? We have something for you, too!
For ages 9 and up. In our Horsemanship Program, students will learn all aspects of horses, riding, groundwork, and safety in a calm and enjoyable learning environment.
The Horsemanship Program consists of two lessons per week, both one-hour in length. This program runs year round, and lessons are scheduled as a package each month.
The focus of our Horsemanship Program is to help students:
Learn to interact with horses in a way that is empathetic, safe, and effective
Achieve a balanced position and advance their riding skills
Understand the correct use of aids and pressure, and how horses respond to them
Learn impeccable ground work skills and relationship-building exercises that all equestrians need
Feel connected to horses on a deeper level
Find what they are passionate about and advance in that direction - learning new things, riding, horse care, jumping, Liberty, training horses, ground work, clicker training, dressage...or all of it and more!
Our Horsemanship Program lessons are tailored to each student based on their age, skill level, and interests.
This program is suitable for any skill level. In a one-hour lesson, students will learn how to approach the horse, groom, tack up, ride and/or do groundwork, learn to take care of the horse, and clean their tack. Our goal is for each student to eventually be confident and capable enough to take on the grooming, tacking, and clean-up responsibilities on their own (depending on their age), 30 minutes prior to and after the one-hour lesson.
